It is incredible how one small idea can grow into something truly special. D's Dreams 4 Kids is rooted in the belief that we all have an inherent responsibility to make a meaningful difference in our community.

CEO- President

Diana Folmer

Diana is the Founder and President of D's Dreams 4 Kids. This is her vision that has come to life. She is a wife, a mother of 3, and granny of 4. She was a nursing assistant for 18 years and now, two years later, she is a child care provider in the Columbus, Ohio area. Diana said this about why she created this organization: "When I was a child, my parents couldn't always give me the supplies I needed in school. I know [that] not having what you need can make a huge impact on a child's self-esteem and confidence - but most of all, with education. We get to keep creating until the need no longer exists. Every kid gets to and deserves to attend school with their need met and without feeling embarassed or ashamed. It is my honor that D's Dreams 4 Kids gets to keep creating school supply kits. That will in turn create positive self-esteem, educational focus, and most of all - SMILES."

Treasurer

Lee Parrish

Lee is a wife and mother of a 4-year-old boy. Her and her family live in Columbus, Ohio, where she currently works as a Financial Analyst. Lee also served in the military as a civil engineer. She feels compelled to be a big part of DD4K because of her belief that every child should have a fighting chance to succeed in school. And as she describes it: "Sometimes those chances come in small packages, like the ones that D's Dreams 4 Kids provides these children."

Marketing Director

Jim Folmer

Jim currently works as a delivery driver. He is from Mansfield, Ohio but he and his wife Diana currently live in Columbus, Ohio. He has been a promoter and supporter of local, national, and international non-profit organizations for 30+ years. His name is currently held as 'Co-Founder' of a non-profit in Argentina. For the past six years, he has focused on promoting, supporting, and fundraising for local non-profits in the Columbus area. In his own words: "My reasons for supporting DD4K is the tears of happiness and joy and the smiles that come across their faces when they see what a stranger has done for them. It isn't about whether I see those expressions or not. I know they are there. And that, in return, puts a tear in my eye and a smile across my face. It is an honor to be asked if I would like to be on the board of DD4k. And even if I wasnâ€™t, I would still support this organization and its continued growth - and to watch the vision that Diana has turn into a reality."

Chief Operating Officer

Sharon Loar Stroemer

Sharon is a divorced mother of one who lives in Columbus, Ohio. She's a retired licenced limited practitioner with the Ohio State Medical Board. Along with owning two businesses in her lifetime, Sharon is presently an early responder working under FEMA. She has several boards she has served on, with the biggest being League Against Child Abuse. "While working with the children in schools, hospitals, and libraries I see the importance of early learning and what the proper tools are needed...a child will fall through the cracks without them, D’s Dreams provides those tools".

Paul Ryan "PJ" Saldivar

Along with being a husband and father of 2 girls, he currently works as a safety officer at Kenyon College. He is also a member of the United States Navy Reserves. PJ is passionate about the youth of the world, and he believes all children deserve equal opportunites - especially in education.

Our Mission

It is so easy to fall into a pattern of apathy as we go through our lives. Our organization was born out of a commitment to stop passing over the real issues of society, and deal with them head on. We have set out to aid those who need it most. D's Dreams 4 Kids is here to help, and we believe that change is possible when we put our hearts and minds to it.
